Writing the brief

Three kinds of criteria

Must-haves

Decide who is on the list: the task, the region, a minimum size if you need one.

Hand assemblyIn Ohio or Indiana

Nice-to-haves

Shown and used for ranking, never used to exclude.

ISO 9001Second shift

Exclusions

Remove a company whatever else it matches.

DistributorsOffice-only sites
Tip: write the task the way the business advertises it ("box build", "pick and pack", "linen service"). Team size counts only where a site states it, so make size a must-have only if you need it.

Questions

Before you start

How accurate is it?

A company qualifies only when its own website states every must-have. Each claim comes with the verbatim quote, the source page and a confidence level, so your team can check any row in seconds. A site that never mentions the task does not pass, however well it fits the category.

How fast?

Pilot results arrive within 1 business day. Full runs are quoted after the pilot, from the yield it measures on your brief.

What does it cost?

A $100 pilot for the first 25 qualified sites, credited in full to a run. Runs cost $999 (about 25,000 domains), $1,999 (about 100,000), from $4,900 (about 250,000, with the exclusion log) and from $9,900 for a whole category.

How narrow can the ICP be?

As narrow as a website can show: a task, a business type, a region, a size where stated, a certification, a second shift, an industry served, plus exclusions. Runs include up to 2, 5 or 8 custom signals depending on size.

Outside the US?

The index covers 120 million domains worldwide. Name the countries and we screen them the same way.

Do lists include contacts?

No. Company level only: domain, company name, signals and quotes. No people, no emails, no phone numbers. We do not contact companies on your behalf.
